IMU chip for self balance and other applications. Featuring either the LSM6DS or Bosch BMI160 chip set, depending on chip availability. This PCB is perfect for all sorts of applications that need a 6 axis gyro and/or accelerometer. Typical applications are self balance, safety features like impact detection or detection of orientation in space, vibration detection, theft or vandalism detection etc.
For more information about the chips sets, please refer to the data sheets:

Additional information:
Many of our VESC controllers have this chip set already pre-installed. For example all VESC 6 MKIII - MKV, VESC HD and the VESC 100/250 came with pre-installed IMU chip. Most of them with the Bosch BMI160. Older devices might feature the MPU9250.
If you have a VESC controller without IMU, for example the VESC75/300 or VESC 6 EDU, this tiny PCB will allow you to add the missing IMU feature. The PCB plugs straight into the COMM port of your VESC device, either via SPI or I²C.
If you already use these ports for external micro controllers, a Bluetooth dongle or ADC input, you will not be able to use this external IMU chip in parallel to the existing connections or inputs.
For devices that feature two UART ports: You can use this external IMU in combination with an external Bluetooth / NRF dongle or other external UART device.
For devices that have a built in BLE/ NRF wireless chip: You can use this IMU in parallel to the built in wireless connectivity.
Connection to COMM:
Wiring via SPI:
VCC to VCC,
GND to GND,
MISO to MISO/SDA
MOSI to MOSI/SDI,
NSS to NSS/CS
SCK to SCK
Wiring I²C :
VCC to VCC,
GND to GND,
MOSI to MOSI/SDI
SCK to SCK
